Mission Machinery Wraps Up Kunshan Coffee Expo with Strong Interest from African Buyers

2026-09-28
Henan Mission Machinery concluded the 2026 Kunshan International Specialty Coffee Exhibition with strong interest from African buyers. The company showcased its coffee bean cleaning plant and highlighted over 200 installed production lines across Africa, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Local service hubs and spare parts support were key discussion points.
Zhengzhou, China, Sept. 28, 2026 — Henan Mission Machinery Co., Ltd. closed out three busy days at the 2026 Kunshan International Specialty Coffee Exhibition with one clear takeaway: demand for its coffee bean cleaning plant keeps growing, especially in Africa.
The show ran Sept. 24–26 at the Kunshan International Expo Center. Mission Machinery greeted a steady stream of visitors at Booth A-A76, Hall A, many of them from Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda — countries where the company already has deep roots.

A Full Line, Not Just a Machine
What drew the most questions was the company's coffee bean cleaning plant, a complete production line that takes green coffee beans from raw intake to export-ready condition.
The line runs in stages. First comes pre-cleaning and aspiration: a drum cleaner lifts out straw, cobs, dust and chaff, which protects the equipment further down the line and keeps the feed steady. Next, a magnetic separator then pulls out ferrous particles with 99.9% efficiency, meeting HACCP requirements.
Then, a vibration separator screens out silt, light impurities and foreign matter, with capacity ranging from 2 to 30 tons per hour depending on the model. Stone removal and gravity separation follow. Densimetric tables sort heavy stones and metal debris away from the beans by specific gravity, so nothing unwanted survives to the final product.

The last stages handle coffee polishing, size grading and color sorting. Beans are polished to strip leftover silver skin, graded for uniformity, and scanned optically so defective beans — blacks, sours, insect-damaged pieces — get rejected. From there, the line can feed straight into automated packaging.
Operators can adjust airflow and vibration settings at several points along the line. That matters to specialty coffee producers, who can't afford cracked or damaged beans. For them, a cleaning line that protects bean integrity is worth as much as one that cleans fast.
More Than 200 Lines Already Running in Africa
Mission Machinery's coffee and grain cleaning lines are not new to African soil. The company has commissioned over 200 production lines across the continent, including more than 100 dedicated coffee bean processing lines. Ethiopia and Uganda account for a large share of that installed base.

"Our African partners came to Kunshan with real questions about capacity, spare parts and service," said Julia Liang, co-founder of the company. "We've been working in these markets for years. The equipment is already there, running every day. That's the credibility we bring."
Service That Stays Local
Part of the company's pitch in Africa is what happens after the sale. Mission Machinery keeps a local service hub with more than 20 staff and resident engineers in Ethiopia and surrounding regions. Genuine spare parts sit in local warehouses, so customers aren't waiting weeks for shipments to clear customs.
Installation teams are bilingual — Chinese and local technicians — and fees can be settled in Ethiopian Birr or other local currencies. For mill operators who measure downtime in lost revenue, that setup counts for a lot.

A Decade of Grain Cleaning Behind the Brand
Mission Machinery started in Zhengzhou in 2012. Today it runs a 20,000 m² factory and ships to more than 60 countries. Coffee is one part of the business; the company also builds cleaning plants for pulses, seeds, corn and wheat.
Feedback from African clients has been consistent. Abebe Kebede, an Ethiopian processor, said his line has held up through winter operation with no rust or wear issues. Dawit Abebe, who runs pulses and coffee through his facility, pointed to low maintenance and spare parts that arrive when promised.
What Comes Next
With the Kunshan show behind it, Mission Machinery plans to push further into East Africa. The company intends to build on its installed base of 200-plus lines by introducing more advanced sorting and color-sorting options to the region. Buyers who missed Booth A-A76 can still reach the company through its website.
