ZHENGZHOU, China – May 6, 2026 – Henan Mission Machinery, a rising player in grain and bean processing equipment, has announced that it has supplied a complete 10-ton-per-hour coffee bean cleaning plant to a major Ethiopian coffee bean export company. The deal is notable because the Ethiopian customer originally planned to buy from Cimbria, a well-established European industry leader in regards to coffee bean cleaning machines – and had already built its entire factory facility around Cimbria’s specifications.

The Ethiopian firm, which operates a large-scale coffee bean export business, had invested heavily in preparing its facility. The plant’s layout, floor space, conveyor routes, and utility connections were all designed specifically for Cimbria’s standard cleaning line. However, due to a series of commercial and strategic reasons that the customer has not fully disclosed, the deal with Cimbria fell through. That left the exporter with a fully built but empty facility – and an urgent need for equipment that would fit into the existing structure.

Henan Mission Machinery stepped in and won the contract after demonstrating that its equipment could not only match industry benchmarks, but also be adapted to the already‑fixed factory constraints. Winning against a competitor like Cimbria – widely regarded as one of the most competitive names in the coffee processing industry – was a significant milestone for the Chinese manufacturer.

“This order proves that we are now ready to compete head‑to‑head with the industry’s top players,” said Charlie Chan, the CEO of Henan Mission Machinery. “The customer’s factory was literally built for Cimbria. To get our equipment in, we had to redesign everything from scratch – not just the machines, but the entire material flow and footprint.”

The biggest challenge was the fixed spatial layout. Because the Ethiopian customer could not modify its newly built walls, pit positions, or overhead clearance, Mission Machinery had to reimagine the arrangement of its own cleaning line. The standard configuration simply would not fit. Over the next two weeks, the company’s engineering team worked intensively to completely re‑layout each machine’s position: the pre‑cleaner, destoner, gravity separator, magnetic separator, and all connecting conveyors. They adjusted overall line dimensions while preserving full cleaning capacity and efficiency.

The result was a fully customised 10‑ton‑per‑hour coffee bean cleaning plant that slides perfectly into the space originally intended for Cimbria’s equipment. According to the customer, the modified layout causes no interference with existing factory pillars, access aisles, or service zones.

“The Ethiopian client is very satisfied,” Charlie added. “They told us that our ability to deliver a custom‑engineered solution in just 15 days was the decisive factor. We are not a copycat – we now have proven that we can outperform established European brands on flexibility and engineering adaptation.”
